Business Tampere is the economic development agency for the Tampere region, promoting vitality, attracting investments, and supporting local businesses in growth and internationalization through collaboration. Each year, Business Tampere supports the operations of approximately 1,500 companies.
- Business Tampere supports local companies in growth, internationalization, and developing the business ecosystem,
- Assists in building networks and fostering research and development collaborations,
- Encourages participation in development projects and experiments,
- Promotes investments and assist in company relocation to the region, and
- Provides businesses with information about the region’s business and innovation environment.
Business Tampere has worked with many cases and alumni going through ESA BIC, these include, among others: CenseAnalytics (2026) – establishing credible soil carbon data through EO and on-the-ground methods; MoniCardi (2025) – MoniCardibrings medical-grade heart health monitoring to everyday wearables through advanced biosignal analytics; WinsePower (2024) – Winse Power solves technically critical challenges by delivering energy and data with light.
Business Tampere is owned by the municipalities of the Tampere region: Tampere, Kangasala, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Vesilahti, and Ylöjärvi. Business Tampere collaborates closely with the public sector, educational institutions, and companies in the area.
Business Tampere has been involved with the ESA BIC since 2017 and received official partnership status in 2023, when the ESA BIC tender was renewed. This status is important as it allows companies to choose Business Tampere as an incubation location during their time at the ESA BIC.
The Tampere region is Finland’s second-largest economic area and a hub for innovations, where modern infrastructure, top expertise, and international networks converge. The region offers businesses a dynamic and sustainable operating environment that supports growth, development, and success.
The Tampere Universities (TUNI), consisting of Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences, offers students the opportunity to pursue international degrees.
Business Tampere and other actors activate and support companies in the Tampere region in process and business development as well as research collaboration. Services are available for initiating development projects between companies and the public sector, as well as for funding-related matters.
In terms of facilities, Business Tampere encourages companies to reside at Platform6 during their incubation– just a stone’s throw away from Pinni: one of the many TUNI campi. Pinni is home to the following faculties: Education and Culture, Information technology and communication sciences, management and business, and social sciences.
